Great Job 3 On 3 Live Team!!!

ROWDIES SC Team history

The Rowdies started in the fall of 2003 as a U-5 recreational team with the Alamo Soccer Club under North East Youth Soccer Organization (NEYSO) in San Antonio Texas.  In the early years we played co-ed 4 on 4 with no keepers; the main emphasis was put on having as much fun a possible on the field.  The first two years flew by as we played such games as musical balls, rhino’s panthers and snakes, sting the parents, over the cliff, and keep it out of my yard at our practices.

As we moved to U-7 and U-8 age bracket we left the co-ed moniker behind and became an all girls team.  We still played small sided games with no keepers but this is where the girls started to develop the talent that would carry them to be very completive years ahead.  The emphasis here was on dribbling, shooting, trapping, and passing.  The girls started to show some real flare putting on some great moves, and most importantly we still had a lot of FUN!!!!

In 2007 a magical thing happened that reshaped the Rowdies into the family we are today.  In moving up to the U-9 age group we needed more girls than were currently on the roster; in steps another U-8 team called the Lady Bugs and the rest is history!  Our two teams combined to form the new and highly improved Rowdies SC!  For the U-9 fall and spring season and the U-10 fall season the Rowdies competed in the NEYSO recreational league learning skills that would benefit them as they grew older.

In the U-10 spring season the Rowdies moved out of NEYSO and competed in the AAYSO Inter League division.  This was the first time the girls traveled to other team’s fields to compete and would get them ready for the traveling teams they would see in the years to come.  Something very special happened this season that happens very rarely in any level of sports; the Rowdies posted an undefeated season.  The team went 8-0-0 in their first season away from the confines of McAllister Park!

U-11 saw the girls move to the D-II level; where they were very competitive in every game they stepped on the field to play.  In the fall season the team missed the D-II playoffs by 2 points finishing that season with a record of 4-2-3.   To get ready the for the spring season Rowdies played in the NEYSO Groundhog Tournament and were crowned tournament champions for the U-11 age group.  In the spring they Rowdies played in the South Texas Cup and qualified for the championship that was held in Round Rock Texas.  After all the points were tallied, the Rowdies finished 11th out of the 12 teams that were invited to participate

Things looked bright as the team got ready for the U-12 campaign; we had some new faces on the team, fancy new uniforms and a determination to improve on what we accomplished in the spring season.  The Rowdies finished the season with a record of with a record of 6-2-2 and qualified for the D-II Fall Playoffs, once again at Round Rock Texas.  After all the points were tallied this time, the Rowdies finished 9th out of the 12 teams that were invited to participate, an improvement of two places.

The U-12 spring season the Rowdies moved up to compete at the Super-II level.  Although their initial season at the more competitive level had some bumps in the road, the girls played very hard in every game and put the rest of the teams on notice that once the U-13 season starts the Rowdies will be there fighting hard in every game and be a team to be reckoned with!
